Dan Plumley

Director Marine Operations, Sabine Pass Liquefaction

A native of San Antonio, TX, Dan joined the Cheniere Marine Team in 2015 as a supervisor. Before joining the team, Dan spent 23 years in the U.S. Coast Guard where he was stationed mainly in the Gulf of Mexico region, between Texas and Louisiana.  During his time in the Coast Guard, he was stationed at all four local units that serve Cheniere’s Sabine Pass Facility, including Marine Safety Unit Port Arthur and Coast Guard Cutter Point Baker. He served as Officer in Charge of Aids to Navigation Team Sabine and served his last tour as the Officer in Charge of Station Sabine. During his Coast Guard career, he earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management from Excelsior College.  He retired from the U.S. Coast Guard at the top of the enlisted ranks as a Master Chief Petty Officer with over 13 years of command experience.


Under his direction, SPL has been able to safely export over 2500 LNG cargos since 2016. He is the Site Leadership Team sponsor for the Cultural Champions Team, sits on the Cheniere Political Action Committee (PAC) Board of Directors and most recently was elected to the Chairman position on the SouthEast Texas Waterways Advisory Council (SETWAC).


He has been married to his wife, Stephanie, for 29 years and they have two daughters, Haley, who attends Galen College of Nursing in San Antonio, and Madison, who is currently attending Lamar Institute of Technology in Beaumont.  Anytime he has free time, you can find him fishing in one of the local waterways chasing trout or redfish.
