James Prazak
Past President, Lone Star Harbor Safety Committee
James Prazak is the Performance Director at Tricon Energy, Ltd in Houston, TX. James began his career at The Dow Chemical Company in 1989 after graduating with a Chemical Engineering degree from Texas A&M University. During his time at Dow, he worked in Supply Chain roles, mostly in Marine and Terminal Operations. His roles included Operations Engineer, EH&S, Emergency Response, Project Management and Maritime Regulatory Affairs. In 2010, he left Dow to join Tricon Energy, Ltd as its Global Operations Manager. He moved into his current role in 2015, where his responsibilities include Safety, Quality and Insurance, Technical Support, Vetting, as well as Regulatory and Operations Compliance.
James is a past Chair and current member of the Lone Star Harbor Safety Committee, and also serves on the Port Coordination Team for the Houston area. He is currently the Vice Chair of the National Chemical Transportation Safety Advisory Committee (NCTSAC), and served as Chair of the Chemical Transportation Advisory Committee (CTAC) for many years. James is also on the board for the Chemical Distribution Institute (CDI) marine program, Chair of its Marine Technical Committee, and also a member of its Terminal Technical Committee.
James has been actively involved in the planning and execution of the past three National Harbor Safety Committee Conferences, beginning with his role as the Conference Chair of the 2019 conference in Houston.
