Michael Borgstrom is owner and CEO of Wendella Tours & Cruises in Chicago, providing architecture tours, private charters, and water taxi services since 1935.

Mike has 47 years’ experience in the marine industry, including 43 years as a USCG-licensed master. He has served as Co-Chair of the Southern Tip of Lake Michigan Area Maritime Security Committee; President of the Passenger Vessel Association (PVA); Chairman of the PVA Safety & Security Committee; and was instrumental in the creation and development of the Chicago Harbor Safety Committee, serving as its first President.

He is a former member of Great Lakes Commission Advisory Committee for Envisioning a Chicago Area Waterway System for the 21st Century; Great Rivers Chicago Implementation Committee; Advisory Committee for Connecting Cook County 2040 Long-range Transportation Plan; Chicago Trident Initiative; Great Lakes Forum; Chicago Port Development and Safety Committee; and Lake Michigan Offshore Wind Energy Council.

Mike is the recipient of a USCG Public Service Commendation, PVA National Marine Safety Award, and PVA Outstanding Service Award.
