President McElroy previously served as CHSC’s Vice President (2022), Passenger Vessel sector representative (2020), and chaired the Navigation, Emergency Preparedness and Education Committees. Recognized by his industry peers for his work on developing safety and emergency response programs, Captain McElroy is the former Chair of the Passenger Vessel Association (PVA) Safety and Security Committee, current Chair of the Engineering Committee, and recipient of the prestigious PVA Roger Murphy National Marine Safety Award. He is also a two-time recipient of the USCG Meritorious Service Award. He is currently Director of Marine Operations and Regulatory Affairs for Wendella Sightseeing after serving 34 years in the industry.
